​汤圆,饺子,傻傻分不清楚?

Can you differentiate the dumplings?

(Sweet Rice Dumpling)
  • 元宵节与冬至应景的食品,寓意团团圆圆,也是南方冬至会食用的食物。

Traditionally eaten during Yuanxiao (Lantern Festival), served as a dessert on Winter Solstice, and any occasions such as a family reunion, because of a homophone for the union. Commonly consumed in the southern regions during Winter Solistice Festival.

  • 用糯米粉与水搓成团,搭配热汤或糖浆,或油炸。

A ball of glutinous rice flour and water that has been either boiled and served in a hot broth or syrup or else deep-fried. 

  • 一般有馅儿,但也有无馅的,可大可小。

It can be either small or large and filled or unfilled.

(Chinese Dumpling)
  • 在农历新年和冬至等节日的重要食品,也是中国北方省份全年食用的主食之一。

One of the major dishes eaten during the Chinese New Year, the Winter Solstice and year-round in Northern China.

  • 由碎肉和蔬菜馅料包裹成一片薄生面团后包好密封。

Consist of ground meat and/or vegetable filling wrapped into a thinly rolled piece of dough, which is then sealed by pressing the edges together.

  • 包好的饺子可以拿来制作成蒸饺、煎饺或汤饺。

Traditionally served with black vinegar and sesame oil dip. Soup could be served along with it as well.
